Two of the biggest names in luxury vehicles are Audi and Mercedes-Benz, both of which offer extensive lineups of sedans, SUVs, and performance machines, with both gasoline and electric drivetrains. This can sometimes make it difficult to choose between the two longstanding marques. That's why we put together this brand comparison, to give you an extensive look into the different aspects of the two companies that you'll want to consider when choosing between them.

Electric cars have been a major area of development for luxury brands, and both Audi and Mercedes have introduced multiple electric models in recent years. We're taking a look at the flagship models from both brands to see how the EV technology differs. Right from the start, we can see a sizable difference in performance. A lot of this is raw horsepower, but the Audi also has a unique transmission setup, a two-speed transmission for the rear wheels, that gives it a performance advantage over other EVs. And while EVs tend to be heavy, Audi's history of lightweight construction techniques means that the e-tron GT is more than 500 pounds lighter than the EQS Sedan.
The e-tron GT's ability to charge at 270 kW doesn't just outdo the EQS, it's the highest charging wattage of any electric vehicle on the market. This is why, even when starting at 5% charge, the e-tron GT can hit 80% much faster than the EQS will starting from 10%. It's one of a number of things the e-tron GT does just that extra bit better than the EQS, along with things like a more sophisticated climate control system.

Warranty Coverage
There's more to buying a vehicle than just which one you find exciting. As a purchase you're likely to keep for a while, you want a vehicle that will hold up over time. The best way to get a vehicle that will be with you for a long time is to buy one that offers a good warranty. Both Audi and Mercedes-Benz offer the same 4 years / 50,000 miles in basic warranty coverage, but there is more to it than that. For one thing, Mercedes cuts off roadside assistance coverage after 50,000 miles, even if you're inside the 4-year window. Audi doesn't have a milage cap for this, and neither is there a mileage cap on corrosion perforation coverage. This last one is a pretty important difference, since Mercedes-Benz cuts everything off after either 4 years or 50,00 miles, but Audi's corrosion perforation coverage extends all the way to 12 years, with no milage limit.
Audi | VS | Mercedes-Benz |
4 Years / 50,000 Miles | Powertrain Warranty Coverage | 4 Years / 50,000 Miles |
4 Years / Unlimited Mileage | Roadside Assistance Coverage | 4 Years / 50,000 Miles |
12 Years / Unlimited Mileage | Corrosion Perforation Coverage | 4 Years / 50,000 Miles |
Brand Comparison Winner - Audi

It's clear after a closer look that Audi is far out ahead of Mercedes-Benz as a brand that gives you a whole variety of reasons to get excited. If you're looking for advanced safety or exciting advanced technology, Audi delivers in ways that other companies, even a well-established brand like Mercedes-Benz, cannot.
