Consumer Reports has remained one of the most trusted names in automotive research and rankings for decades. Each year, their panel of experts takes the time to analyze the reliability of automotive brands across the industry. They survey their members about the problems they've had with their vehicles in the previous 12 months to determine which car brands are most reliable. Based on data on over 300,000 vehicles, covering a range of 24 model years from 2000 to 2024, and 20 individual problem area categories - Consumer Reports ranked a total of 22 automotive brands for reliability.

In dominating fashion, Audi ranked #7 overall out of 22 brands surveyed. Audi also ranked #3 out of 11 luxury brands surveyed. A testament to its outstanding initial build quality and long-term dependability, choosing Audi is a smart decision for shoppers who prioritize reliability ratings.

Audi Vehicles Earn Top Safety Pick+ Awards

Also related to reliability, choosing a luxury vehicle with a proven reputation for safety is another way to experience confidence behind the wheel. "Customer safety is a top priority at Audi," said Daniel Weissland, President of Audi of America. "We are proud to see Audi's efforts in safety enhancing technology continue to earn the accolades of independent industry organizations, with our engineers constantly striving to develop vehicles that achieve ever more challenging safety benchmarks."

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has significantly strengthened the criteria involved in determining recipients of its coveted Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards. Audi rose to the challenge and stood above many of its top competitors with a total of 6 awards for 2024.
